Supporting & Promoting Members' Businesses

The SME Sales Gap can be described as follows:

You are in a meeting with your biggest client. Whilst in that meeting, your phone is on silent and a potential bigger client wants to speak with you. They leave no message and the number is withheld - opportunity gone.

How many opportunities do you miss whilst servicing existing business?

How does your business address this?

All though I haven't really come across this problem I would have thought that if they really want to get hold of you then they'll call back?
My personal thinking is that if you concentrate on the clients you are with and give them 100% attention, then other business will see the respect you give clients and want the same. And the result = more business for you. They'll call back when they see you are someone they want to work with.

Also, what is to say that when you get the 'bigger client' you won't be watching the phone for an even better one?
